Hi,

If you did not change anything to Theme files/codes there should not be any errors at all. I will need more information about your current setup in the order to help you further.

There's not much guides on how to work with home page to be honest with you.

Step one: (go to Theme Options)



Step two: (type in the content into fields)




Other things to look after are menu items, make sure that there's only one "home", also static page must me empty as well



and compare with defaults:
