Background image in home page content area - Responsive Theme Discussions on ThemeID: Support Community

Hi Emil,

I wonder whether there is a way to put a background image in the content area on the home page? So my Headline and featured image etc would remain as they are, with a photo image behind them?

..Or do I need to create an image myself and just insert one image there instead (I know there have been posts about that...)

That would be in the Child Theme stylesheet (style.css) right?

If that's right, I'm not sure exactly where to edit. ...I don't see any reference there to a #featured background...

PS I Can follow instructions on this forum (which is great!) about how to edit css docs, but I haven't a clue why I'm doing what I'm doing so.. well... just so you know!

Thats correct. Just change the link to the link of the image that you have.

OK thanks so under Start from here I put:

background:http://cmcsolicitor.ie/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Claire-quay-4.jpg no-repeat;
}

...but no reaction on front page alas..

You should follow directions more carefully
