Can't get rid of "Leave A Reply" and "header data"

    I know this has been asked and answered before, but I have disabled all boxes in both the pages and posts under Screen Options, and I have disabled every last box in the Comments section of Settings and the comments in Jetpack. But I can't seem to disable the "Leave A Reply" and all the header info like author, date, etc as seen below:

    I would love to move along to get beyond this simple matter before "tinkering" with the PHP on my own, always a shot in the dark. Any clues out there? Exact PHP would be nice, if that's what it takes to abolish the offending features.

    It's a wonderful theme, using WP v3.5, responsive's latest greatest, but my client is very specific.

    Hi,

    I would guess that there's a comment approved and that's why you cannot disable them, go to your comments and delete it.

    Yes, I already deleted the default comment that came with the theme along with Hello World. I guess I'll use your HIDE snippet in the CSS. I presume pasting it into the child theme beneath a few other snippets I already have there (the full-page width image that didn't seem to work either, but I just placed it into the home page HTML to solve that issue) will do the trick, right?

    If you are using a Child Theme, yes that would be where to paste. All right how about deleting "Hello World" completely? Can you give me more details on full page image please.

    Hello World is long gone! The snippet in the child theme didn't work. Perhaps if you have an email, I can let you inside to have a look. My address is gabriel?scenewash.org, replacing the question mark, of course.

    Should I dig into the db with phpMyAdmin to delete those files completely? The Hello World and comment files?

    Amazing! I haven't had the chance to follow up everything, but I don't recall seeing that particular slide screen before, and I did indeed uncheck everything in the post and pages options at the menu bar level.

    Regardless. You fixed it, and I thank you heartily. I will follow-up to see what I missed. Did you repair the homepage slider graphic also? I had placed the image code several places tring to get it to work, but settled on the simple splash page HTML in the bod of the page...

    No problem. I haven't looked at the slider, you can use Meteor, it's very good.
