People often asked me “why do you provide free Themes as well as dedicated support for something that majority of the sites would charge for it?” Well there’s no simple answer to that. First I like being in position where WordPress users around the globe would download one of my free Themes and ask for help when they have the need for it. To know that you’ve created something that will represent and be the “face” of their online identities is above and beyond any price.
My very first public Theme called Shell-Lite has become one of the easiest ways of getting your online presence off the ground, Theme that is in use by many individuals, businesses, non-profits and lately even some celebrities such as Australian Country Singer Bryen Willems.
Since July 26 th 2011 I have been providing daily support to anyone with question, regardless if that was something minor, or bigger stuff such as getting help to re-design the Theme and everyone received the same care and attention.
Second Theme “Responsive” was released 14 days ago and this quickly became a hit with over 15,000 downloads (within 14 days) and counting and it’s currently #3 on WordPress Most Popular Themes list.
Support Forums currently serve about 558 members with 500 topics and over 2,800 posts. Note once again that forums are maintained on daily basis, not when I have time to answer them and there is no charge whatsoever, special memberships or any other restrictions to post a question. Users are not even required to register to read what was previously answered.
